Under the guidance of COLLINS Senior Director Morgan Light, I created two poster designs for Samia's 2025 single "Bovine Excision" from the upcoming album Bloodless.
Bovine excision means "the killing of cattle under unusual, bloodless circumstances." In the song of the same name, Samia uses metaphors like “drained bloodless” and “wanting to be impossible” to confront the impossibility of femininity and draining oneself for men.
One poster is designed with 2 keywords that represent these ideas: disappearing & sharp. The other was an exercise in the opposite: reappearing & soft. Together, they make a conclusive whole that speaks to the song in two different ways.
