Point in Time (abbreviated PT.) is a curation of articles from the "now" of the design world. This is the "next wave" issue. In this issue, I have selected four articles from brilliant journalists, like Theresa Christine Johnson, that solve this problem. From intuitive techniques for sustainable pigments, to the integration of AR in packaging, this publication touches the now.
The inside and outside covers are designed with a retrofuturist theme, inspired by the early 2000s.
This single-spread article about sustainable pigments mentions their use in a collaboration with Nike and Billie Eilish. To attract new readers who might not immediately be interested, I highlighted Eilish with a full-bleed image and pull quote.
For an article about augmented reality (AR) in package design, the lockup features custom type made from a grid of dissipating dots. The futuristic elements throughout both spreads are inspired by the grid-like spatial mapping used in AR.
The following article explores questions about how AI is impacting the graphic design community. The images are not mine; they are examples of AI-generated images that are discussed in the article.
These spreads, for an article about a modern brand identity, are designed to complement the brand's visuals.
While the designs are my own work, I did not produce the photography that supplements the articles. Any images that are not mine are credited in the work.
