Lance sandwich crackers are loved for being portable and filling. Unfortunately, the existing product design lacks sustainability: each pack is individually wrapped in thin, plastic film, leaving excess waste that is not biodegradable and hard to recycle.
My proposed redesign eliminates plastic waste, without sacrificing the portability or sanitary protections afforded by individual wrapping.
Lance Sandwich Crackers have 2 flavor variables: cracker and filling. The label needs a system that communicates which cracker and which filling are in the pack. At the top of the hierarchy is a large, custom-typeset logo for the cracker, followed by a subheading that denotes the filling.
Snacked on a pack? Not to worry! The packages fold and link together for easy pantry storage.
Wondering why some packs are upside-down? There are a few reasons! First, the dieline needs to be one whole panel in order for all 4 packs to connect. In order to fit all panels without them running in to each other, the orientations need to alternate.
Second, alternating directions means that the packaging works from any angle. You can toss them in the pantry, on the field, or at the bottom of a schoolbag. You'll still know exactly what you're snacking on!
Bonus: Share the fun with a variety pack!
